Husch Blackwell LLP is a full-service litigation and business law firm with multiple locations across the United States, serving clients with domestic and international operations. We have an immediate opening for a Trusts & Estates/Corporate Paralegal Assistant in the Financial Services & Capital Markets Strategic Business Unit in our Phoenix, AZ office.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Paralegal Assistant is responsible for providing support to attorneys and paralegals in the Trust & Estate practice by assisting with handling corporate tasks relevant to estate planning including preparing corporation, limited liability company and partnership formation, governance, administration and compliance documents.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assist with formation documents for new companies.
Assist with preparation of transfer documents, annual minutes, annual reporting, required state and federal filings and governance documents (buy-sell agreements, partnership agreements, corporate bylaws, etc.).
Learn/develop technical proficiency in database use and management; internet/electronic research; and project folder/electronic file maintenance.
Create, maintain and organize existing files.
Assist paralegals with overflow duties.
Meet annual targeted billable hours of 1,000.
Assist with other tasks as assigned.

POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

Associate’s degree or equivalent required; Paralegal Certificate preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills; strong writing skills required.
Proven success working in a fast-paced, continually changing environment.
Ability to prioritize; excellent time management.
Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task efficiently and be an independent thinker.

The physical requirements of this position:

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
The visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision:

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
