WBE EMCC Murphy Elementary SD IT Help Desk Support Intern

The Murphy Elementary School District (MESD) IT Department is offering an internship opportunity for Estrella Mountain Community College students! Students will experience the daily challenges of IT helpdesk technician.

The IT Helpdesk Intern will assist faculty and staff setting up equipment, maintaining inventory, creating documentation, answer phone calls, logging tickets, and basic IT troubleshooting.

Number of Hours per Week: 5-10
Duration of Internship: January - May, 2023 (dates are flexible)
Internships require a minimum of 80 hours of work. This is in-person internship.

Interns MUST obtain a Fingerprint clearance card.

Internship Requirements:
• Must be currently enrolled at EMCC
• Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA
• Must have completed at least one semester at Maricopa Community Colleges or previous internship experience
• Must obtain Fingerprint clearance card

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist internal MESD customers with general IT issues such as:
• General maintenance of PCs/Laptops/Chromebooks
• Maintain inventory
• Installation of software and hardware
• Assist with transport of hardware for transfer or disposals

Minimum Requirements:
• Ability to setup, configure, troubleshoot, and resolve general computer/PC problems
• Have exceptional customer service skills
• Strong interest in Information Technology Field of Study
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
