The City of Avondale is excited to offer a Cybersecurity internship opportunity for Estrella Mountain Community College students!

The security Intern will assist the security team with various activities and components of our security program.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Review and update documentation
-Provide first level support with monitoring and investigation
-Record and track IT security incidents
-Assist with monitor security awareness training

Qualifications:
-Basic knowledge of IT technologies, applications, and processes
-Academic coursework in cybersecurity
-Demonstrated problem-solving skills and knowledge sharing
-Proficient in written and oral communications skills

Minimum Requirements:
- Currently enrolled at EMCC
- Must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 G.P.A.
- Must complete a minimum of 80 hours of internship work
- Must complete required forms, track hours, and may write a short paper at the end of the internship if taking credit class

NOTE: Applicants not enrolled in Summer 2022 classes must enroll in 1-credit internship class and pay $100 tuition and fees out of pocket (contact Internship Coordinator for details). See scholarship details below.

Number of Hours per week: The City of Avondale works 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday – Thursday but we are flexible for 10-15 hours per week during this time frame.

Duration: 8 weeks
Dates: June 6 - July 29, 2022
