JOB SUMMARY: Provides intensive professional counseling and behavioral health services to individuals and families with a primary diagnosis of alcohol and/or drug addiction. Collaborates with a team of individuals to assist Arizona Families F.I.R.S.T. (Families in Recovery Succeeding Together), “AFF”, clients in their recovery goals.

JOB DUTIES:

Provides a broad range of counseling services including intake, assessment, development and implementation of treatment plans for individuals and families. Ensures services are clinically appropriate, providing services that are outpatient or home based.
Ability to travel throughout Northern Arizona.
Provides direct support services to include engaging clients in Group Lecture utilizing Agency prescribed curriculum, topics related to 12-step recovery, health and wellness promotion, and crisis management.
Develop and oversee implementation of treatment plans and relapse prevention planning.
Provides workshops, seminars and/or psycho-educational group sessions on a particular subject to assist clients in their adjustment to society and to enable them to function more adequately in their everyday living.
Documents client’s participation and progress in progress notes.
Prepares progress notes, event notifications and other documentation regarding clients in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
Coordinates clinical care with appropriate internal and external agency personnel including supervisor, AFF Case Coordinator, referral sources, etc. Consults with referral sources to gather information to assist in client referral and expectations. Works with supervisor (or other credentialed professional) in consultation to ensure appropriate diagnosis and treatment is given to each client.
Maintains strict confidentiality at all times regarding client information so as not to violate professional codes of ethics.
Manages caseload to meet agency productivity requirements. Follows up with new/continuing clients regarding missed appointments.
Keeps informed of new, innovative ideas to facilitate program development, assumes responsibility for professional growth.
Schedule appointments as needed to ensure smooth operation of department.
May represent program to civic and church communities through speaking assignments, community meetings, etc.
Promote ongoing commitment to excellence and continual quality improvement to ensure the highest quality of services to our staff and clients.
Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education /Background: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field from accredited university. Minimum one (1) year post Bachelor’s outpatient counseling and behavioral health experience preferred. Bilingual preferred. Has obtained at least one (1) of the following licenses to practice in Arizona.
Associate Counselor (LAC) or Professional Counselor (LPC);
Associate Marriage and Family Counselor (LAMFT) or Marriage and Family Counselor (LMFT);
Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or;
Associate Substance Abuse Counselor (LASAC) or Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC).
2. Job Knowledge: Must have knowledge of ethical practice, clinical assessment, DSM diagnosis, co-occurring disorders, treatment planning, ASAM assessments, CINA ASI and CIWA assessments, strength-based assessments, solution focused treatment modalities, domestic violence issues, quality management systems and case record documentation. Must have knowledge of the tenets of cultural competence, family systems, human development, human delivery theories and methods, legal requirements concerning physical and sexual abuse, crisis intervention methods and community resources and referral procedures. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the agency and community. Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications (Word & Outlook).

3. Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate interruptions. Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, and ambulate over uneven floor surfaces including stairs and steps. Primarily office work, travel within area on a frequent basis, travel to other areas of state as needed. Evening and weekend hours required as needed. Must be able to visually and auditory assess and interact with clients to ensure their safety and wellbeing. May lift up to 25 pounds.

4. Other requirements:

Valid AZ driver’s license, reliable transportation and ability to show proof of registration/insurance.
Level One Fingerprint clearance or ability to obtain fingerprint clearance; must maintain clearance.
Must possess Arizona State Board of Behavioral Health license at degree required to obtain licensure.
