The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Recreation Assistant – Youth Camps (temporary/part-time, non-benefited). This position serves at the discretion of the department director. The work schedule for this position is seasonal with varied workdays.

Our new team member will have a passion for teamwork, collaboration, and instructing youth. We are looking for a Part-time Recreation Assistant who will plan and supervise intersession camps. Ideal applicants will be energetic, creative, organized, and can apply independent judgement during the program. Our employees must demonstrate excellent customer service and be able to communicate effectively with participants, parents, co-workers, and supervisors.

Minimum qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED equivalency; and
• 1 year of experience in a recreation environment; and
• Valid Arizona Driver's License with acceptable driving record; and
• First Aid and CPR/AED certifications may be required depending on assignment; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Desired qualifications
• 2 years in a recreation environment

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
