Library Assistant (Temporary Full-Time, with Limited Benefits)

The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Library Assistant. This position is a temporary-full-time, limited benefit position. This position serves at the discretion of the department director and works as the courier driver delivering library material between branches and as a circulation assistant where needed.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00am-4:00pm.

Location: Home location is the Chandler Downtown Library with the possibility of working at other locations as needed.

Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone with a clean driving record who can lift up to 50 pounds.

Minimum qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalency; and Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record (when assigned to courier duties); andOne (1) year customer service experience involving frequent public contact; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired qualifications

Recent experience working in a public library. Experience with an automated library system.Proficiency in use of computer software programs, Internet resources, and digital resources including e-books.Recent experience working in a high-volume customer service setting and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
