As a mentor in the Discover Your Future program, you will be working in a small group of youth with a provided curriculum in a supportive & structured environment. Our goal is to connect the youth with a positive role model (mentor) to help promote resiliency against Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Minimum requirement of 1 program per week (2.5 hours) for the Fall semester.

Location:
Mentors will be placed at an elementary school in the West Valley.
Office location: 1425 W. Southern Ave, STE 10A
Tempe, AZ 85282

Number of Hours per week:
Minimum 2.5, Maximum 10

Duration of Internship:
Minimum of a 1 semester commitment beginning August 2024 with onboarding and training occurring over summer.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Commit to being a mentor for a minimum of 1 semester.
• Must pass a background check.
• Required to attend 1 in-person training
• Mentor a minimum of 1 program per week
• Serve as a positive role model
• Implement curricula with fidelity
• Maintain open communication with site supervisor.
• Promote resiliency in youth

This is an unpaid internship.

Internship Requirements:
• Must be currently enrolled at EMCC
• Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA
• Must have completed at least one semester at Maricopa Community Colleges or previous internship experience
