Responsibilities The USGS Astrogeology Science Center Science Center is seeking associate or undergraduate student working towards a degree in Computer Science to gain practical experience in software development, and software/application integration testing. As a Student Trainee (IT Support) you will serve in a trainee capacity, performing routine and recurring development assignments to acquire knowledge and understanding of functions, principles, practices, and methods used in the area of computer science. Duties include assisting with: On Location customer support to resolve common computer issues. Telephonic level 1 IT support. System backup/restoration. Write, maintain, & modify software scripts. Qualification Requirements This internship is geared toward students majoring in one of the following areas of study: cybersecurity, computer architecture, computer programming, data science, information systems, software engineering, and machine learning. For GS-04: 1-year of general experience that is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the knowledge and skills, needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Successful completion of 2-years of education above the high school level. You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements for the position by the closing date of the announcement.
