**About this role:**

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Database & Middleware Engineering organization. This position will be an integral part of the Data Hosting Automation team helping to drive the effort to create a fully automated suite of APIs, tools, and utilities that will deliver swift builds, a stable and consistent operating environment, empower our customers through self-service, and provide seamless integration with other automated processes across the bank.

The successful candidate will be familiar with modern development practices and bring full-stack experience to the table, joining a team that, while still maturing our agile practices, is leveraging automated pipelines for continuous integration and deployment. The team provides automation support for all enterprise database platforms and works closely with subject matter experts within each platform to ensure we deliver robust, reliable, stable, performant, and secure microservices to our customers.

**In this role, you will:**

+ Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact

+ Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines

+ Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs

+ Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors

+ Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives

+ Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals

+ Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor

**Required Qualifications:**

+ 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

+ 5+ years experience with Python including tools such as pytest - ability to deliver ~100% code coverage in unit tests - use of classes and inheritance, code reuse

+ 5+ years API development with Flask, Django or FastAPI

+ 5+ years with git or equivalent - collaborative development requiring pull requests and peer reviews

+ 5+ years in agile teams, scrum or kanban

+ 5+ years experience tools such as Jenkins, Jira, and automated deployments

+ 2+ years with Ansible2+ years experience with tooling in support of Oracle, Postgres or SQL Server infrastructure

**Desired Qualifications:**

+ 3+ years with React, Angular or Vue

+ 3+ years with sqlalchemy

$111,100.00 - $237,100.00
