Summary This position is located in the Dietary Department of the Whiteriver Indian Hospital and serves as the Supervisory Dietitian who is responsible for the management of the Dietary Program, providing nutritional education and analysis to patients. This position is under the supervision of the Director of Professional. Responsibilities Works with Division managers and supervisors and other staff members to manage strategic planning, policy decisions and share the implementation of plans. Provides consultative services to the Food Service department to ensure compliance to accrediting agency standards and conditions of participation. Develops and directs a performance improvement program by continually monitoring the major functions of the assign unit by assessing for quality and appropriateness of nutritional care rendered. Develops, coordinates and implements the community and clinical dietetics component which includes nutritional management of a variety of chronic medical problems, breastfeeding promotion, and the provision of consultative services to the food services department. Manages finances by preparing annual spending plan, maintaining commitment registries, reconciling the budget and pursuing alternative funding sources and strategies to optimize reimbursement of services rendered. Exercises leadership in education and research of health care, nutrition and public health programs. **This position is being announced concurrently under Delegated Examining Plan (DE) procedures. Qualifications To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Individual Occupational Requirements: In order to qualify for this position, you must meet one of the following requirements. I have a Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree in the fields of dietetics, food, nutrition, food service management, institution management, or related science. The educational program must have been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. For dietitian positions, the curriculum must have been in accordance with the qualifying requirements established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) (formerly American Dietetic Association (ADA) prior to January 1, 2012) in effect at the time of graduation. B. I have completed a coordinated undergraduate program, internship, or other clinical component approved by AND (formerly ADA) for dietitians or nutritionists. C. I have a Professional registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).D. I am a current employee and assigned to a position in the GS-0630 occupational series as of September 30, 2017. Minimum Qualification, For GS-0630-13 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least 1 year of specialized experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples include: Providing nutritional and clinical services needs of the patient population; ability to coordinate program goals and objectives with local organizations, community programs and other health agencies to improve nutrition and health status of patients or services that significantly impacted a wide range of public health, nutrition and diabetes activities; developing and directing performance improvement programs by monitoring major functions by assessing quality and appropriateness of nutritional care services; ability to develop innovative model approach inclusive to new information/nutritional advancements to incorporate into daily practices and procedures to ensure continued improvement in services provided. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR - Possess and maintain current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level.
