Trinity Southern Baptist Church Casa Grande, Arizona Is Seeking A Worship Leader

OUR COMMUNITY: Casa Grande is a community of about 67,000 residents located about 40 miles south of the Phoenix metropolitan area at the junction of Interstates 10 & 8. Casa Grande has experienced significant growth, and has been able to maintain a good balance between industrial, commercial and residential development. Our close proximity to the major metropolitan area provides easy access to the advantages of a big city (including professional sports). At the same time, Casa Grande has been able to maintain a small-town feel, and the area continues to reflect its agricultural roots.

OUR CHURCH: Trinity Southern Baptist Church was founded over 66 years ago and has a very visible presence on a main city street. We are unapologetically a Southern Baptist Church. The ministry of Trinity remains relevant in a community and body of continuing change. We believe a solid foundation has been established to grow and minister effectively in the coming years. Our current attendance between two Sunday morning worship services averages about 200. Currently our first service features traditional music and our second service is more contemporary. We strive to maintain vibrant ministries for all ages, and to be a relevant and welcoming church family. Pastor Phil Calvert has been at Trinity for about 12 years.

OUR POSITION: Our Worship Leader position has just become vacant and able lay leadership has stepped up to minister in the interim. Though music/worship is the main focus of this position, our new staff member must be willing to do whatever it takes to address our needs at any given time, so flexibility and a servant’s heart are musts. We expect to call an individual based on the music/worship focus, but evaluate giftedness, skills and interests to establish one or more additional areas of major responsibility (outreach, and/or managing our social media presence, for example).

Our ideal Worship Leader will have these characteristics:

• Integrity, honesty, transparency
• Doctrinally sound theology; agreement with Baptist Faith & Message
• A strong leader with strong “platform presence”
• Team player with a commitment to local church health
• A good voice; ability to play one of more instruments is a plus
• Ability to lead choral music with choirs of all age groups

The compensation package is currently budgeted at $45,000 plus provided housing.
