The City of Chandler Law Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as an City Attorney Senior Manager/Deputy City Attorney. This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits. This position is at-will and serves at the pleasure of the City Attorney.
This opportunity is only open to: 1) current regular City of Chandler employees, 2) those participating in a city approved internship or apprenticeship program, and 3) temporary employees who are paid through the city payroll system.

The City of Chandler Law team, consisting of 33 employees, and is made up of 3 sections: civil, prosecution, and risk management. Who we are looking for
Our new team member will be an energetic and an experienced municipal attorney with a background in providing advice and counsel to City Departments on legal issues including, but not limited to, public records, open meeting law, procurement, and other types of contractual relationships including intergovernmental agreements. We are seeking an experienced professional with a background in representing federal, state, and local government entities in Arizona. Experience in advising public entity clients about 42 U.S.C. § 1983 claims, personal injury claims, tort claims, catastrophic injury claims, and appellate actions. Must have experience in municipal defense. Strong dispositive and complex motion writing is a plus. This position will supervise and oversee our Risk Management section and associated litigation.

Minimum Qualifications
• Juris Doctorate Degree
• 8 years of experience in the practice of law including some experience in municipal law or related area with an expertise in specialty areas of the practice of law as determined by the City Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
• Licensed attorney in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

This is a regular full-time position that serves at the pleasure of the City Attorney. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
