Job Description:

If this sounds like you, consider joining our microcontroller R&D team as a VLSI Analog Design Intern at Microchip Technology in Chandler, AZ.

As a VLSI Analog Design Intern, you’ll become part of a dynamic team, working on projects that involve analog systems enabling microcontrollers to interact with the physical world. This internship will give you hands-on experience in design and testing and the chance to collaborate globally. Under the guidance of experienced analog designers, you’ll assist with designing and testing analog circuits, like sensors and power systems, participate in brainstorming sessions, and help refine solutions.

TLDR: In this role, you’ll gain practical experience in analog circuit design and testing, with plenty of support from seasoned engineers in a collaborative environment. You’ll also get the chance to contribute to meaningful engineering solutions that make a difference.

Requirements/Qualifications:

We seek someone with a strong analog circuit design foundation and a system-level mindset. If you’re passionate about analog design, hands-on lab work, eager to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and driven to learn and innovate, this internship is for you.

Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related field (Spring 2025 or Fall 2025 graduation date preferred).

Solid academic foundation in analog circuit design

Familiarity with VLSI design concepts and methodologies.

Experience with circuit simulation tools like SPICE, Cadence, or similar software.

Experience with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and debug analog circuits.

Understanding of system-level design considerations and trade-offs.

Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl) for automating design tasks is beneficial but not required.

Willingness to learn, take initiative, and collaborate with a global team.

Up to 20 hours per week during the school year.
