U-Haul International, Inc. seeks a full-time Corporate Paralegal with at least 2 years of relevant experience to join its Legal Department.
Responsibilities will include:
The selected candidate will play a crucial role in managing our extensive network of corporate subsidiaries. Responsibilities will include establishing and dissolving entities, maintaining entity records, and preparing annual consents, resolutions, and notices for board and committee meetings. Additionally, the role involves compiling board books, handling SEC filings for our public company, managing UCC filings and amendments, and providing periodic reports to company auditors. Other secondary duties may include, but are not limited to, assisting with corporate transactions, including real estate and fleet financings and real estate acquisitions; management of intercompany agreements; and communication with vendors, outside counsel, internal legal staff, and management. The candidate will also be regularly involved in special corporate projects and other miscellaneous tasks as-needed.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will:
+ Have 2 or more years of relevant experience in a law firm or corporate environment.
+ Be responsive, responsible, practical, proactive, organized, and detail oriented.
+ Have outstanding verbal and written communication skills; a strong work ethic; sound judgment; and good time management habits.
+ Work well both independently and as part of a team.
+ Enjoy a fast-paced and challenging environment.
+ Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, CT Corporation entity related software and other research platforms. Prior experience with Legal Tracker is preferred.
Education:
+ Associate degree (or higher) or certificate in paralegal or legal studies; or the equivalent in experience.
