**Where You Will Work **

Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support global operations in finance, human resources, information technology, planning and more from the main office, satellite offices or online. As a Hybrid employee, you will collaborate primarily virtually anywhere in the U.S. except California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. Additional states may be excluded based on business factors. Occasionally, you may be required to attend in-person meetings at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix and/or one of our site locations. The Collaboration Hub provides an open, flexible workspace for individuals and teams to come together for various business needs. Amenities at the Hub include a working café, phone booths and meeting rooms with technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration. In-person attendance may vary based on the position and department requirements.

**Description**

The Senior ESG controls specialist is responsible for ensuring the integrity, effectiveness and efficiency of our organizations processes and controls around Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting. You will partner with the others within the ESG, Corporate Accounting and Internal Audit functions in evaluating and optimizing our ESG reporting process and controls to mitigate risk and contribute to the Company’s overall success with compliance with our ESG disclosures and initiatives. The position is expected to ensure the organization remains agile with respect to evolving laws, regulations and industry standards and their impact on controls within our process.

+ **Risk Assessment and Mitigation:**

+ Design, implement, and evaluate internal controls over ESG reporting to ensure identified risks are mitigated and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

+ Analyze ESG data and metrics to ensure accuracy and completeness, identifying trends and anomalies.

+ **Audit Execution:**

+ Plan, execute, and report on internal audits focused on ESG reporting controls, identifying areas for improvement, and providing actionable recommendations.

+ Work closely with departments such as Sustainability, Finance, and Legal to gather information and provide insights on ESG reporting control.

+ Evaluate existing data validation exercises and support data owner training over management review and functional-level ownership.

+ **Reporting:**

+ Prepare detailed audit reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

+ Support drafting and refresh of policies, processes, and controls documentation.

+ **Continuous Improvement:**

+ Stay updated on ESG trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to continuously improve the audit process and ESG reporting controls.

+ Provide educational workshops on internal control considerations to functional-level personnel.

+ **Internal Control Projects:**

+ Assist with other internal control-related projects, including financial and operational audits, as needed.

**Qualifications**

Minimum Qualifications:

+ High School diploma or GED and nine (9) years in accounting, including two (2) years in prolong intellectual instruction (certifications, instructed training, OR on the job training, etc..) in Accounting or Finance; OR

+ Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related area and seven (7) years professional experience in accounting or finance; OR

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or closely related discipline and five (5) years experience in accounting or finance; OR

+ Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or closely related discipline and three (3) years experience as an Accountant for a public accounting firm

+ Possess strong knowledge of auditing standards, risk assessment and control frameworks

+ Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills – and be able to craft and analyze options and make specific recommendations to enhance the Company’s ESG reporting process and controls

+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

+ Process oriented with strong attention to detail and organization

+ Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively within a team of diverse individuals

+ Proficient in computer navigation and Microsoft environment

Preferred Qualifications:

+ CPA

+ Internal or external audit experience

+ Experience working with ESG frameworks and reporting standards

**What We Offer You**

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $ **82,000-$113,000.** This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
