The City of Chandler Management Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as aPayroll Specialist. The position is scheduled to work Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the possibility of two remote days per week upon successful completion of probation.

Who we are
The Accounting Division is responsible for preparing the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and guiding the City’s annual audit. We also oversee the areas of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, special assessments, fixed assets, cash management, investments, debt management, and grant accounting; all in compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

We are looking for someone who is committed to the payroll calendar processing timeline as well as performs a variety of technical and advanced accounting clerical duties involved in the processing of the City's payroll ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.

Minimum qualifications
• A High School Diploma or GED; and
• 3 years of experience in accounting including at least one year of payroll processing experience; and
• Must be bondable; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
