**Responsibilities**
The Chaplain is responsible for the delivery of pastoral care to patients their loved ones and staff. Responsibilities will include to ensure that religious and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones are met in areas assigned.
+ Provides pastoral care, to patients and families in a timely manner and serves as a professional spiritual care resource
+ Maintains accurate documentation in patient charts regarding spiritual care interventions, plans, and outcomes
+ Advocates for patient rights in regard to spiritual, cultural, and psychosocial values and how they impact a patient and their support system response to their care
+ Supports an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral care by participating in team meetings and rounds
+ Provides education to patients and families about spiritual resources, advance directives, organ and tissue donation, ethics, and other spiritual issues that may arise
+ Participates in ritual, worship, and sacramental needs of patients, family and staff
+ Provides pastoral care to staff and serves as professional spiritual care resource and fosters a sense of spirituality in the workplace throughout the medical center
+ Keeps records as required of pastoral activities
+ Demonstrates servant leadership
+ Completes assigned department project and serves on instiutional committees as assigned
+ Oversees all of the chapel needs as assigned when priest is unavailable
**Qualifications**
**MINIMUM**
Masters Degree in Theology Pastoral Care/Counseling Divinity
One year of chaplaincy experience in hospital or healthcare setting
Clinical Pastoral Education: 4 units of CPE (1600 hours) in an accredited ACPE hospital center
Professional Competencies: Theology of Pastoral Care (302.1 - 302.5); Identify and Conduct (303.1 - 303.9) Pastoral Care (304.1 - 304.9); Professionalism (305.1 - 305.6).
NACC, APC or NAJC Board Certification within two years of hire into position. Applicant that is eligible for certification must demonstrate their progress toward certification. Provisions to extend the two year time frame may be granted on occasion for emergencies. NACC, APC or NAJC Board Certification preferred. Good standing requires maintenance of continuing education and peer review requirements for renewal of certification while observing a professional code of ethics required by your Professional Organizational Standards.

$34.20-$34.20 /hour
