**About this role:**
Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Credit Risk & Approval Officer to report to the Head of Commercial Real Estate Credit Risk and Approval Executive.
A successful candidate will leverage their experience and knowledge of risk management, business functions, products, and services to provide independent, holistic credit leadership and oversight of the business. This role will provide business loss forecasting as well as reporting for both, quarterly business review and relationship concentration. They will monitor and review loan underwriting and portfolio management performance, analyze new business prospects, and support strategic initiatives of the relevant business lines. The role may regularly assist in presenting to senior management in on the credit risk position of the business.
**In this role, you will:**
+ Manage, coordinate, and administer credit-related issues remediation activities including Regulatory, Audit, RAR, RCSA and other self-identified Issues including the preparation of Issues reporting.
+ Assist leadership in the preparation of materials for Regulatory and Senior Management interactions.
+ Provide credit subject-matter-expertise in preparation for Regulatory examinations. Manage various projects and initiatives on behalf of leadership.
+ Provide subject-matter-expertise in the review of Credit Policies, Credit Procedures, and related Credit processes.
+ Assist with the preparation of Credit Committee materials.
+ Thought leader for credit process change and efficiencies. Liaison to Audit, Senior Credit Risk Officers, Front Line Credit Portfolio and Relationship managers and Governance & Control Officers.
+ Lead engagement for all enterprise risk programs on behalf of CRE Risk.
+ Working directly with lines of business to ensure all recommendations where second line has challenge (Loss Forecasting, IMTV) are supported prior to review and to lead Risk based engagements where group wide review are required (Risk Measurement annual refresh, Enterprise Risk Identification and Assessment).
+ Assisting in monitoring the covered portfolio in line with our risk appetite, the broader needs of Wells Fargo and our oversight responsibilities including providing credible challenge as appropriate.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ 10+ years of Credit Risk & Approval or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
**Desired Qualifications:**
+ 10+ years of Commercial Real Estate experience in either a Front Line or Second Line capacity
+ Previous experience working with Audit, Control & Compliance in the creation, maintenance and testing of controls.
+ Former Enterprise Programs, RCSA and/or regulatory relations experience.
+ Strong knowledge and understanding of enterprise credit policy.
+ SharePoint experience

**Pay Range**
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$207,900.00 - $431,900.00
