As a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician, you will be responsible for the in-the-field sampling and testing of concrete, soils, and other construction materials. Technicians will be required to complete and submit written reports daily. A company vehicle will be provided specifically for travel to and from scheduled job sites. Technicians will require sufficient ability to find project locations by address and/or direction. No previous construction materials testing experience necessary.

**Job Responsibilities:**

+ Drives to project locations; Consistently shows up for work as scheduled.

+ Performs a variety of construction materials sampling and testing activities in a field setting on concrete

+ Perform work in close proximity to construction activity and heavy construction equipment.

+ Picks up and delivers samples to laboratory for further testing.

+ Once trained and operating independently, completes tasks and submits completed paperwork in appropriate timeframe.

+ Write detailed reports summarizing test results and observations.

+ Inform field representatives of observation and test results.

+ Communicate with managers, show commitment as a team player, organize work, manage time effectively, and adhere to established safety procedures.

**Required Qualifications:**

+ Willingness to obtain ATTI Certification and American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I

+ Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record

+ Must be at least 18 years old for entry onto job sites, must be able to lift up to 75lbs repeatedly

+ Ability to read and write, ability to use a computer

+ Must be able to work a variety of hours including late nights, early mornings, afternoons

+ Must be able to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders and maneuver loaded wheelbarrows; may be required to walk/carry/handle loads on uneven, unstable terrain

+ Prior experience as a field/engineering technician - preferred, but not required

+ **Written** – Handwriting must be legible; must be able to compose correspondence and prepare required reports, completely and accurately.

+ **Verbal** – Must be able to receive and follow through on instructions; must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor, coworkers, clients, and contractors.

+ Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, dispatchers, co-workers, clients, contractors, and agencies.

+ **PERSONAL SKILLS**

+ **Attitude** – Presents a professional demeanor to management, co-workers, clients, and contractors; demonstrates a predisposition for working as part of a team; displays an interest in the work

+ **Willingness** – Completes assigned tasks with diligence and without complaint; does what is necessary to get the job done on time; follows through on commitments

+ **Efficiency/Accuracy** – Work is typically performed correctly the first time; demonstrates the ability to prioritize, re-prioritize, coordinate, and accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously

+ **Initiative** – Once assigned tasks are complete, searches out other work that needs to be performed or requests instructions from supervisor
