**Where You Will Work **

Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support global operations in finance, human resources, information technology, planning and more from the main office, satellite offices or online. As a Hybrid employee, you will collaborate primarily virtually anywhere in the U.S. except California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. Additional states may be excluded based on business factors. Occasionally, you may be required to attend in-person meetings at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix and/or one of our site locations. The Collaboration Hub provides an open, flexible workspace for individuals and teams to come together for various business needs. Amenities at the Hub include a working café, phone booths and meeting rooms with technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration. In-person attendance may vary based on the position and department requirements.

**Description**

Under limited supervision, provide water management support related to the design, construction, operation, and closure of tailings and leach facilities as well as all other mine water systems including process and storm water facilities, serve as company resource for water balance modeling and develop new ideas for mine water balance tools and methods

+ Provide site-specific support to engineers and site personnel in the design, development, and maintenance of site-wide water balance models. Incorporate water use scenarios that consider specific production plans and climate scenarios to quantify water balance performance. Use probabilistic predictive simulations to support design projects for capital infrastructure. Use results to formulate value-added solutions to identified challenges or as requested.

+ Apply working knowledge of engineering principles to guide and/or execute site-specific operational water balance activities that include managing contractor work, field investigations, measurement, mapping, interpretation, accounting, analysis, coordination, problem solving, forecasting, and reporting.

+ Provide training to multidisciplinary teams in the use of specialized software and water balance methodologies.

+ Serve as technical expert for mine water balance applications and lead efforts to advance the state of mine water balance modelling through innovative methods, technology, and custom tools.

+ Develop and/or review scopes of work, evaluate proposals, draft formalized internal requests for funding, and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment as approved and required.

+ Identify opportunities for improvements and determine associated value for risk reduction measures.

+ Performs other duties as required.

**Qualifications**

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline from an accredited curriculum with five (5) years of experience in applicable field of expertise, OR

+ Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline from an accredited curriculum with three (3) years of experience in Engineering or related scientific field

+ Knowledge of principles and practice of civil, geotechnical, water resources, water quality/treatment, and/or geological engineering

+ Demonstrate technical competence through design and/or operations experience in at least one of the following work areas: tailings storage, leach stockpiles, water dams, process water balance, water quality/treatment, hydraulics/hydrology, hydrogeology

+ Proficient in MS Office and other engineering tools (CAD, analytical, mapping)

+ Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing in English to a diversely educated audience

+ Present a positive, professional image

+ Self-motivated, energetic, able to execute, and client-service oriented

+ Be able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure

+ Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety of yourself and others

+ Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with Water Resources Engineering or water quality/treatment specialization

+ Demonstrated expertise and proficiency in the GoldSim simulation software including 5+ years designing and developing water balance models

+ GoldSim Certified Solution ProviderProfessional Engineer’s license (PE) or equivalent relevant certification

+ Experience with metal mining operations, especially with tailings storage facility, water dams, leach stockpile, water treatment, and metal refining design and operation

+ Utilization of bathymetric and topographic survey data

+ Experience with slurry transport analysis and design

+ Experience with cost estimating for civil projects, project scheduling and project controls

+ Able to research and analyze information of relatively small scope and minimal difficulty and draw valid conclusions

+ Able to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques in design projects and operational support

+ Experience in surface water hydrology, hydraulics, and groundwater hydrology in addition to geotechnical experience

+ Superior interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills with diverse teams of technical and non-technical staff

+ Skilled in related Engineering software (AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Muk3D, ArcGIS), programming languages (Python, R)

+ Fluency in Spanish or Bahasa Indonesian languages

+ Ability and willingness to travel domestic / international

+ Ability and willingness to travel at least five (5) weeks for every quarter

Criteria/Conditions:

+ Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

**What We Offer You**

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently **$98,000-$137,000.** This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
