• This position is posted as Project Manager, which is a working title. The NAU system title for this position is Program Manager.
Job Description
This full time Project Manager will be a support position to work closely with the Program Director, while creating a seamless grants management experience for all stakeholders. This position will also provide ongoing support for the PA faculty and learners. The PA department as a whole is collaborative, professional and very experienced. The faculty are knowledgeable and learner focused, with a drive to serve patients and communities in need.
Grant Management, Reporting & Data Management - 35%
• Coordinates SAMHSA and Rural Health Professions Programs (RHPP) activities to ensure compliance with state and federal standards and policies.
• Develops, implements, and maintains recordkeeping systems and procedures; gathers data, compiles information, and prepares reports for SAMHSA.
• Applies subject matter expertise across the department to ensure program success and ensure compliance.
• Direct the work efforts of individual program contributors, student employees, or temporary workers.
Administrative support and operations - 30%
• Makes decisions in partnership with Key Personnel related to allocating grant resources on a day-to-day basis.
• Applies baseline planning, organizing, coordinating, and facilitating skills; demonstrates working knowledge of grant budget, planning, and reporting.
• Focus is on day-to-day operations and continuity of grant program; identifies and resolves issues that may not be readily apparent.
Grant Budget Support - 30%
• Primary program manager for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) grant; approves and monitors budget expenditures; prepares budget revisions; provides interim status reports on all accounts; assists with proposal writing to develop additional funding.
• Collaborates with NAU Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) andSAMHSA grants program official and management specialist on technical and administrative aspects of the grant, including budget modifications, post award amendments, etc.
Other - 5%
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 1-2 years of project management experience.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience.
• A combination of related education, experience, and training may be used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prefer candidate with experience in project management, post-award, grants management.
• Comfort working with small and large data sets, compiling reports and presentations for external stakeholders.
• Prefer candidates with experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders on projects.
• Prefer candidates with experience in higher education, and experience in graduate health education.
• Prefer candidates with experience working with teams (i.e., faculty and staff) on research projects.

This position has been identified as a safety/security sensitive position. Salary
Salary range begins at $62,996. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.
FLSA Status
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime or compensatory time for additional time worked.

New employees who choose to participate in the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP), which is an alternative to the ASRS plan for faculty and other appointed staff, will begin to participate on the first day of the pay period following election. Additionally, the long-term disability plan that accompanies the ORP will begin on the first day of the pay period following election.
