Responsibilities Job Summary The System Engineer I position serves as a resource in support of server-based applications, operating systems, services, and company standards. Actions include configuration, maintenance, upgrades, scripting, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The Systems Engineer I will perform the necessary installation and implementation tasks related to performance enhancements, upgrades, and replacements of corporate technology. In addition, the System Engineer I will monitor, diagnose, trend and resolve problems or issues on multi-platform systems. The Systems Engineer I will work with the user and client community on system integration and provide training to ensure smooth workflows with the Innovation Care Partners network of physicians and providers. Performs the implementation, installation, administration, technical support, and maintenance for systems, servers and/or applications including but not limited to Microsoft Server 2012/2016/2019, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft terminology, and/or Linux. Communicates effectively with IT support staff and/or stakeholders to ensure the process runs smoothly and meets agreed upon SLA’s and timelines. Administers user/system/application rights schemas, quotas, and restrictions to maintain security and integrity of systems/applications/services and defined SLA’s. Plans, tests, evaluates, and participates in technical aspects of system/services/application upgrade implementation activities Work on special projects as assigned to improve/enhance operating efficiency at ICP and/or customer experience. Follows and enforces technical standards/procedures to ensure the consistency and maintainability of new systems/services/applications. Works closely within the user community to analyze, research, and make recommendations for technical solutions to business problems. Participate on project teams and committees. Represent the IT function at review meetings as requested. Produces specialized reports/data/auditing. Analyzes data and reports for anomalies or indicators. Reviews productivity reports and problem records to evaluate performance of computer system in identifying opportunities for improvement and pro-active resolution of deficiencies. Responsible for creating and maintaining knowledge base articles and existing IT related documentation. Keeps manager and/or supervisor abreast of all issues, status of outstanding tasks, and project status reports as appropriate (minimum weekly). Assists in the maintenance and update of disaster recovery procedures documentation to ensure retrieval on all data and system software. Assists in the maintenance of IT policies and procedures for management submission and documentation purposes. Follows and enforces technical standards/procedures to ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing systems/services/applications. Provide and receive cross-training with peers. Aid other IT staff that are less technical to elevate the capabilities of the entire IT function. Maintain current knowledge in new and existing software to ensure productivity, capability, and return on investment. Available for occasional off-hours emergencies.
