The Coconino County Adult Probation Department is seeking a Probation Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with a preference being given to a major or minor in the behavioral sciences (Supreme Court Order 73-1 TR-ADM-PROB) and three years progressively responsible experience as a probation officer; of which one year of that experience is as a lead probation officer or supervisor in a correctional or residential treatment setting OR, any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Additional Requirements: Must successfully complete a criminal history check relevant to employment. Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment. Must achieve a certification of completion/proficiency of 40 hour Defensive Tactics Academy with an annual 8-12 hour review. If Probation Officer chooses to be armed, they must attend and pass 40 hour Firearms Academy and maintain a 20 hour annual "shoot" for recertification purposes; complete a minimum of 16 hours of on-going education within the judicial system certified by the Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET); may be required to attend Faculty Skills Development Class and become statewide instructor.
