Summary
In Test Engineering, we design, fabricate, prove-in, and qualify the test systems that will test the non-nuclear components of nuclear weapons that we manufacture here at Honeywell FM&T. As Senior Engineers, we lead multiple moderately to very complex Test Engineering Projects for one or more specific weapon programs project management processes
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Recognized authority within area of expertise with wide versatility of experience and capability.
+ Works under general administrative direction occasionally with some latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions.
+ Effectively performs project planning and manages project resources, including multiple individuals and disciplines, to achieve quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
+ Conducts research and development while writing technical reports for experiments to resolve complex engineering and quality problems involving highly technical and scientific methods.
+ Mentors lower-level engineers establishing operating procedures on new products and components and coaches and mentors junior CAMs.
+ Leads, monitors, and controls projects in partnership with Engineering Technical Leads, Design Agencies, and Management, including coordination and facilitation of day-to-day project tasks and resources
+ Regularly establishes and drives timely and cost-effective baseline execution across various engineering projects through the following:
+ Creates, executes, and maintains Project Management Plans (Scope, Schedule, Cost, Risk Management).
+ Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to establish and deliver project milestones and deliverables on time to commitments.
+ Participates in internal & external project reviews, providing project status updates to NNSA and DoD customers and management.
+ Leads, monitors, and controls projects in partnership with Engineering Technical Leads, Design Agencies, and Management, including coordination and facilitation of day-to-day project tasks and resources
+ Tracks and evaluates key performance metrics.
+ Escalates and works to remove obstacles to project success.
+ Acts as the Financial Project Manager and is responsible for all administrative tasks, reporting, and reviews, including the management of forecasts to improve accuracy and reliability in support of budget, resources, and workforce planning.
+ Utilizes Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques and reports on progress and variance mitigation.
+ May perform other duties as required.
+ Evaluates and implements innovations and technological advances that improve quality, reduce flowtime, improve productivity, and enhance operational surety.
+ Interacts with design agency and/or supplier counterparts to resolve moderate to complex design, development, production, and acceptance issues.
You Must Have
+ Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
+ Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
+ Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics
+ 6+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.
+ United States Citizenship.
+ Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
