Responsibilities Job Summary The Medical Fitness Director is responsible for the general operational oversight and performance of the staff, facility and programs associated with the assigned Medical Fitness Center (MFC). The Director is also responsible for developing partnerships and relationships with community leaders, employers, and organizations including using those relationships for business development. Builds collaborative teams that strive for continuous improvement and business results that meet/exceed every member and clients' expectation. Coordinates alignment between the MFCCenter and other HonorHealth programs such as Blue Zones, other departments in the building and Integrative Medicine. May have operational ownership in other departments that are closely aligned with the MFC. Works in collaboration with Medical Directors or other physician leaders for the success of the MFC and its programs. Develops Medical Fitness Center business by working directly with community leaders, employers, recreation departments, schools, athletic/sports clubs to build relationships, promote program joint ventures, and provide a resource for education, wellness & outreach programs. Develops relationships with other HonorHealth departments for the success of the programs. Directs the development, planning, coordination, marketing and implementation of health and fitness programs/events/newsletters/websites/communications with the goal to maximize participation and engagement. Create, design, organize, promote, monitor, and participate in employee wellness initiatives and incentive programs with various partner organizations to promote overall well-being and resilience. Creates marketable programs that service the different types of patients/customers in the MFC such as: health maintenance, chronic conditions management, sports, rehab, and performance. Responsible for directing the operations, work activities, and staffing of the MFCCenter, inclusive of hiring/onboarding, evaluating, managing performance, coaching, and developing employees, ensuring employee productivity, quality of work, and alignment of goals with the mission, vision, and values. Encourages the delivery of safe, effective, and value-added member programs and services. Monitors member satisfaction to ensure a consistently evolving member experience, reflecting HonorHealth values. Addresses all member and employee issues completely and in a timely manner consistent with customer service standards and expectations. Recommends, develops, and implements process improvements. Provides oversight to ensure that the facilities and equipment are safe, well maintained, and meet cleanliness standards. Manages purchasing and maintenance decisions for all supplies and equipment to ensure safety, and uninterrupted productivity. In collaboration with the Business Manager, develops annual Medical Fitness Center budgets and goals. Leads the department to achieve the approved proforma, budget, and goals. Ensures compliance with all policies, financial stewardship, by being accountable for the financial integrity around development and maintenance of department budget. Maintains and distributes site-specific department statistical and financial reports that are accurate and complete according to pre-established schedules and formats. Achieve and maintain relevant certifications such as Medical Fitness Facility Certification and Exercise is Medicine (EIM) Fitness Center status. Collaborate with other departments that depend on, or integrate with, the MFC for the delivery of related services. Serve in the “manager on duty” rotation when business needs dictate. Leads the MFCCenter in securing licensures, certifications, and awards that benefit its operations. Serves as physician educator/liaison regarding Medical Fitness services, ensuring all new medical referrals are assigned appropriately and in a timely manner. Ensures that patient/client outcomes are being delivered as prescribed, EMRs are maintained, secure & functional, and all staff follow HIPPA protocols and requirements. In collaboration with Senior Leadership, propose, develop and provide programs, incentives, and services for HonorHealth Employees Responsible for continuing education in the latest research, methods & protocols in fitness, health, and athletic performance. Contributes to the monthly Medical Fitness Newsletter and other media and communications, including writing articles, reviewing new and relevant research, and developing ideas for topics, reviews, and advice. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree Exercise physiology, exercise science, kinesiology, sports management, business administration and/or another related field mandatory. Required Master's Degree Master’s degree in a related field. Required Experience 5+ years leadership and management experience in a community, commercial, corporate, or hospital-based medical fitness center. Knowledge of administrative procedures and human resources management. Competence in budget development, revenue generation and financial management. Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service-related skills. Required 3+ years of supervisory experience Required Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Required CPR/AED Required Medical Fitness Facility Director Certification within 6 months of date of hire Required
