Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer with a background in heavy civil construction to join our team! This is an awesome opportunity to be an integral member a high functioning Project Management team. Our jobsites are located throughout the Greater Phoenix Valley so no out of town travel is expected. The perfect candidate possesses a leadership mentality and is driven to continuously grow with the company. DCS will provide the necessary training, tools, mentorship, and resources needed to be successful. We are looking for a candidate with a conscientious work ethic, self-discipline, a strong sense of integrity, and a passion for the construction industry.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Assist project management staff on projects from preconstruction through project closeout
Develop new and maintain current client relationships for long term success
Potential to serve as the primary contact for clients, as well as the liaison between client representatives and field employees regarding project updates
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the provisions and requirements of all contract and other project documents
Assist to create and help manage project schedule and coordinate with internal team, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders
Responsible for ensuring compliance with company safety policies and OSHA safety standards
Participate with the project activities of the on-site project management, field superintendent, and other field resources
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college, technical school, or university in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience in a similar estimating or engineering position
A minimum of 2 years of project engineer experience preferably with a self-performing heavy civil general contractor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Knowledge of CPM Project Scheduling, Hard Dollar, MS Office Suite, including MS Project
Experience utilizing construction software such as On-Screen Take Off, and Agtek, or similar estimating software
Understanding of Bluestake
Knowledge of Arizona Heavy Civil market a plus
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively through all mediums to staff, management, peers, clients, business partners
Accountable, highly organized approach with strong attention to quality and detail
Communication and partnering skills to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to accomplish multiple ongoing responsibilities.
