Job Description:

Vertisis Custom Pharmacy is seeking a talented Formulation Chemist to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing advanced, custom formulations for injectable and non-sterile pharmaceutical products, collaborating with a dynamic group of scientists, pharmacists, and technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

· Formulation Development: Work closely with the Laboratory Director and the R&D team to design and develop new, effective formulations, with a focus on injectable solutions and non-sterile preparations.

· Ingredient Selection & Research: Conduct thorough research to identify and select high-quality ingredients, including active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), nutraceuticals, and vitamins, based on their chemical, biological, and pharmacological properties.

· Optimization of Formulation Parameters: Design and conduct experiments to optimize key formulation parameters such as solubility, stability, pH, viscosity, and osmolarity to meet the specific therapeutic needs of the product.

· Quality Control & Testing: Perform rigorous quality control tests to ensure the formulations meet strict standards for potency, purity, stability, and compliance with pharmacopoeial guidelines.

· Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all formulations are compliant with current regulatory standards and maintain accurate and thorough documentation for all development processes and outcomes.

· Collaboration & Problem Solving: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including pharmacists, laboratory technicians, and project managers to troubleshoot formulation challenges, ensure project timelines are met, and contribute to the continuous improvement of formulation processes.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).

· Strong understanding of formulation principles, including solubility, stability, delivery mechanisms, and the relationship between chemistry and pharmacology.

· Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and other analytical methods for formulation analysis.

· Knowledge of pharmaceutical development processes and regulatory requirements

· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think critically and adapt formulations based on experimental data.

· Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple formulation projects simultaneously.

· Effective communication skills to interact with a multidisciplinary team and document findings clearly and accurately.

· A passion for innovation and a genuine interest in advancing patient care through custom formulation science.
