We are looking for an experienced Principal Program Planner to join Virgin Galactic in our mission to transform humanity’s relationship with space with our next generation of Spaceships and Motherships. In this role, you'll collaborate with program management, technical staff, production, finance, and others.
**Responsibilities**
+ Create and manage Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for major projects, ensuring alignment between finance, engineering, materials, manufacturing, and quality.
+ Use project management tools like Gantt charts, PERT charts, and earned value management to track project progress and identify issues.
+ Work closely with the Program Team to analyze projects, applying knowledge of earned value management systems (EVMS) to improve cost and schedule performance.
+ Conduct risk analyses and troubleshoot scheduling conflicts.
+ Help develop new scheduling techniques and standards.
+ Support the program office and guide less experienced schedulers to meet project goals.
+ Contribute to new business proposals by suggesting scheduling methods and developing Integrated Master Plans (IMP) and schedules.
**Required Skills & Experience**
+ Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience.
+ Proven expertise in scheduling, particularly with MS Project or similar tools, including handling multiple projects and creating reports.
+ Experience with Schedule Health Analysis and Schedule Risk Assessment tools.
**Preferred Skills & Experience**
+ Experience using Primavera P6.
+ Knowledge of earned value management systems (EVMS) guidelines.
The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $96,800.00–$147,650.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
