**Your Opportunity**

Stantec is seeking candidates to join our US Mining Team as a Mineral Economics and Advisory Consultant with the Mining Economics and Risk group. This position requires an individual with broad understanding of the mining industry and proven technical competencies to support our industrial mineral sectors. The candidate will be responsible for leading economic and financial projects related to the mining industry, including mineral valuations, market assessments, due diligence, risk analysis, and economic models for technical reports. The successful candidate will be required to lead junior mineral economists and financial analysts to complete work. The candidate will also be responsible for leading research and advisory projects to support non-mining companies involved in mining-related projects.

**Your Key Responsibilities**

+ Provide economic and financial expertise to mining and infrastructure projects.

+ Evaluate mining projects using DCF analysis.

+ Value mineral properties following Industry guidelines and best practices.

+ Understand client questions and obstacles and develop work plans that deliver solutions.

+ Conduct market studies for various minerals.

+ Analyze multi-disciplinary data and stakeholder input and communicate findings.

+ Manage tasks and help develop younger staff.

+ Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.

+ Willing to supervise a team in the future.

**Qualifications**

**Your Capabilities and Credentials**

+ Diverse background in industrial and mining projects.

+ Experience designing and analyzing projects using discounted cash flow, Monte Carlo, and decision tree analysis.

+ Strong technical and business writing skills, particularly for decision makers, organizational skills, technical leadership abilities, oral communication skills, and attention to detail.

+ Demonstrated successful experience in client service management, including the ability to interface with clients and to build and maintain lasting, positive relationships.

+ Ability to work and make decisions independently.

+ Demonstrated successful experience to initiate and maintain relationships with local staff and key staff from other locations within Stantec.

+ You have a willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

**Education and Experience**

+ 5 years of relevant experience

+ Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering and/or mineral economics, or a related field.

+ You have strong technical skills in conducting mineral market studies, economic and financial evaluation of mining projects, mineral valuations, mining development strategies, risk analysis, and mining advisory.

+ You have experience doing DCF and Monte Carlo analysis in Excel and other software tools.

+ You have experience developing, drafting, and delivering written products.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

**Salary Range(s):**

* $97,100 - $140,800 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI and MD

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
