RELOCATION ASSISTANCE and SIGN ON BONUS
Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to the mechanical design, test and analysis of fans and compressors within the Engine Systems and Component Analysis (ESCA) organization of Honeywell Aerospace Technologies’ Engines and Power Systems Engineering. Will be responsible for engineering tasks associated with the analytical design, development, production and field support activities for blades, vanes, disks, and impellers. Responsible for supporting currently fielded products, assisting to define product improvements and helping to conceive new and innovative concepts to develop fans, axial rotors and impellers. Mechanical design and analysis efforts will focus on continuous improvement through lessons learned, best practices, innovative thinking and comparative benchmarking to achieve state-of-the-art technology that will be integral in securing present and future business by consistently meeting or exceeding customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities with Compressor Blades, Vanes, Disks and Impellers
- Execute mechanical design and analysis – including vibration, deflection, fatigue crack growth, burst, HCF, LCF, thermal and stack analysis – and generate accompanying documentation capturing findings and results
- Support mechanical testing of components and engine modules in various lifecycle stages (rig, development, production) and perform data reduction/analysis on test data
- Develop and present engineering artifacts during structured design reviews
- Interpret engineering drawings via geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Support product certification and qualification
- Contribute to technical mentoring, process/tool improvement and knowledge capture

YOU MUST HAVE
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
+ 6+ years mechanical design and analysis experience in turbomachinery utilizing ANSYS software suite or comparable software
+ 3+ years mechanical test experience in turbomachinery
WE VALUE
+ Knowledge of test methodologies for mechanical robustness assessment
+ B.S., M.S. or PhD in aerospace or mechanical engineering
+ Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing, product support and field support
+ Ability to conduct risk assessment and abatement plan
+ Problem solving with root cause analysis (RCCA)
+ Strong writing, speaking and presenting skills
+ CAD based modeling experience (NX, UG, Solidworks, CATIA)
