The Opportunity
The SSM (Selective Soldering Machine) Technician is responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining machinery and related processes to ensure printed circuit boards are assembled accurately and efficiently. The SSM Technician also performs soldering, manual and machine inspection, and testing to ensure reliability of customer products.

Responsibilities
Connect through hole, wires, cables and other components using Class 3 soldering and other bonding techniques and equipment
Setting up, tearing down, operating and monitoring of machinery and related equipment/processes
Prepare and assemble electronic components into printed circuit board assemblies
Cleaning and performing operator preventative maintenance where required
Complete visual in-process and final inspection on all products to ensure customer specifications are being met
Maintain a clean and organized workstation
Perform visual inspection of boards to confirm accurate placement and polarity of components, and compliance to workmanship standards
Participate in IPC training and become certified as a Specialist
Operate X-ray, Automated Optimal Inspection (AOI) and other assessment equipment
Operate Depanelizers and Press-fit equipment according to operating standards
Test finished PCBs using customer specific equipment
Performing other duties as required (potting, wire stripping, assembly, etc.)
Requirements
3 + years soldering experience – proficient working on and inspecting Class 3 products
Minimum High School Diploma or GED – Technology Diploma would be an asset
Experience working with machinery in an electronics environment is an asset
Experience with component lead forming is an asset
IPC-A-610 certified and experience in electrical soldering and assembly work
Knowledge of J-STD-001 is an asset
Proficiency in reading schematics and PCB layouts
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate Computer Skills – Navigate computers to access documentation
