JOB OVERVIEW
Under general supervision, operates light to medium size trucks to transport materials on public highways and between company plants. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drives company truck to make scheduled or unscheduled transport runs of supplies, hardware, raw chemicals, and hazardous, as well as non-hazardous, items between stores and/or magazines and Nammo Defense plants and facilities.
• May be required to pick up, sort, and deliver inter-plant and U.S. mail.
• Makes transport runs to pick-up and/or deliver non-hazardous as well as hazardous materials throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area within a 100-mile radius.
• Loads and unloads material by hand, forklift, or pallet jack.
• Blocks, braces and secures cargo prior to transit.
• Interfaces with line supervisors, Production Planners, and other personnel to assure the movement or delivery of supplies or hardware in a timely manner.
• Ensures proper documents accompany the material to be moved.
• Maintains cell phone and radio contact with supervisors, planners, and expediters regarding delivery priorities and instructions.
• Performs ERP material transactions as needed for material going into or out of storage magazines.
• Conduct inventory counts as instructed by supervision.
• Perform monthly Fire Extinguisher inspections for assigned areas.
• Completes a daily Vehicle Inspection Checklist prior to driving vehicle.
• Reports repairs as needed.
• Follows proper safety rules for clothing and equipment.
• Attends monthly safety training.
• Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Drives company truck to make scheduled or unscheduled transport runs of supplies, hardware, raw chemicals, and hazardous, as well as non-hazardous, items between stores and/or magazines and Nammo Defense plants and facilities.
• Performs ERP material transactions as needed for material going into or out of storage magazines.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills and be able to learn and use Costpoint Inventory software.
• Completes a daily Vehicle Inspection Checklist prior to driving vehicle.
• Reports repairs as needed.
• Follows proper safety rules for clothing and equipment.
• Attends monthly safety training.
• 2-4 years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain BATF approval to work with our products.
COMPETENCIES
• Driving checks required; Must have a clean or acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively with company personnel and individuals outside the company.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Regular attendance and being on-site is an essential function of job and allowing employee to miss work intermittently would be an undue burden.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit and talk or hear.
• Employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Employee is frequently exposed to explosives.
• Employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
