This position will be based in Phoenix or Scottsdale, AZ and requires regular travel within your assigned territory. Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.

We are seeking a dedicated Business Development Manager-Retail to join our team and take charge of executing our sales plan, maximizing revenue, and representing the prestigious Gallo brand.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing product sales to retail accounts through our distributor network across assigned state(s). Your ability to assess market data, leverage pricing mechanics, and make strategic pricing recommendations will be crucial in driving our sales and ensuring the growth of Gallo brands. As a key representative, you will collaborate closely with distributor personnel, making decisive choices to maximize opportunities and adapt to market dynamics.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing and executing field pricing strategies, leading sales calls with key retail accounts, and overseeing the implementation of national promotions and programs. You will also play a vital role in training distributor sales forces and conducting product tastings, ensuring that both our team and our partners are well-equipped to drive sales.
As a leader, you will mentor and develop your team, fostering an environment of entrepreneurship and ownership. Your ability to build positive working relationships across the organization and distributor network will be essential in coordinating activities and driving future-focused change. You will also be responsible for managing business expenses, supporting digital marketing initiatives, and engaging in consumer-facing events to promote our luxury offerings.

What You Will Need:
+ Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of Gallo winery sales, marketing, or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of wine or spirits sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of Gallo Winery sales, marketing, or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 10 years of sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
+ Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
+ Required to be 21 years of age or older.
+ Required to obtain liquor license as required by state/locality.
+ Required to travel by air and automobile up to 50% during the course of business
+ Required to see, taste, and smell wine and perform wine tastings as part of job functions.
+ Experience demonstrating strong leadership selling, time management, public speaking skills.
+ Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
What You Will Set You Apart:
+ Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience to include a prior rotation as a Portfolio Consultant, Business Development Manager, Program Manager Sales-LDP, Business Intelligence Manager or Account Manager 2; OR Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of external alcohol sales experience to include retail experience.
+ Direct managerial/supervisory experience with sales, retail, or on-premise employees (e.g. District Manager, Area Manager, State Manager, Field Marketing manager, etc.)
+ Experience with selling or marketing Gallo products.
Compensation:
+ Hiring salary range posted: $112,670 - $169,100 / year
+ Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
