Job title: Birth to Five Helpline Specialist
We are looking for an Early Childhood/Mental Health Specialist to support callers (parents, caregivers, and professionals) with a wide range of questions and concerns about children birth to five.
In this role you will:
* Provide individualized, professional phone consultation to respond to a wide range of
questions and concerns of Arizona families with young children (ages birth to five) and
caregivers and professionals working with children ages birth to five.
* Provide occasional home visits to help families navigate challenges associated with caring
for infants in the first year of life such as fussiness, excessive crying, sleeping problems
and feeding difficulties.
* Maintain time-sensitive data entry associated with incoming calls.
* Retrieve and maintain listings of resource/referral information and participate
in marketing and outreach efforts in the community.
* Provide presentations to groups of parents and professionals on the Birth to Five Helpline
and on topics related to parenting and early childhood.
What it takes:
* Master’s degree in Child Development, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field with at least five years of experience working with young children and thei
* families.
* Bilingual English/Spanish language proficiency.
* Extensive knowledge of child development and parenting/caregiving.
* Training in and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
* Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Computer skills including the Microsoft Suite
* A valid state driver’s license and current auto insurance.
* Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card - OR - must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
* Additional Preferences:
+ Experience working in early care and education settings.
+ Excellent communication skills in group settings and understanding of group processes; experience working closely alongside a team of professionals
