Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will monitor transportation requests for transport of personnel (TOP), transport of things (TOT), self-drive vehicles (U-Drive) and other miscellaneous transportation requirements received by several modes of communication. You will assist with the scheduling of motor vehicle operation (MVOs) vehicles, and other equipment. You will communicate and coordinate closely with maintenance section to schedule vehicles for preventive maintenance (PM) services. You will conduct telephone operations or other forms of communication (e.g. email, fax, written requests) to determine the type of dispatching response required. You will ensure all MVOs have their license and ID in their possession. You will be required to monitor phones, email traffic, and Transportation Capacity Planning Tool (TCPT) to ensure effective communication with customers, MVOs, other region dispatchers and other personnel as required. You will ensure MVOs are informed and familiar with vehicle fuel requirements and refueling procedures, especially for alternative fueled vehicles. You will perform administrative type duties and tasks to support the fleet service requirements at this respective location. You will be required to operate light duty vehicles to relocate vehicles, refuel vehicles, clean vehicles. You will communicate with transportation personnel to ensure vehicle(s) are properly maintained (i.e. washed and cleaned). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Coordinating transportation activity, dispatching personnel and equipment to meet scheduled and unscheduled vehicle and other equipment requirements, performing clerical tasks and procedures applicable to the processing of requests, forms and correspondence, filing documents and ordering office supplies. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education In lieu of specialized experience, applicants can qualify for this position through education substitution. To qualify through education substitution must possess: Successfully completed 4 years above high school level education. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable. The combination of education and experience must equal one year specialized experience.
