**Requirements**

+ Must be able to work a wide variety of hours from early mornings into the evenings; must be able to work occasional weekends as needed.

+ Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

+ Must be able to perform tests as per written procedures.

+ Must be able to work in close proximity to co-workers.

+ Must be able to work in close proximity to materials testing equipment including cutting equipment and ovens operating at extremely hot temperatures.

+ Must be able to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.

+ Must be able to remain alert and upright at all times while on the job.

**Responsibilities**

+ Initially trains with experienced Laboratory Technician until able to perform each of the following construction materials testing procedures, unassisted, from start-to-finish, including the completion of all calculations and laboratory data sheets.

+ Stripping, marking, and storing of concrete cylinders.

+ Capping of concrete cylinders.

+ Reducing samples to test size (splitting out) – able to perform this task by reading the work request.

+ Sample preparation (breakdown) – knows the differences between Departments 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 procedures.

+ Completes tasks and submits completed paperwork within appropriate time frame.

+ Promptly notifies lab supervisor of problems that arise.

+ Assists lead technicians with more advanced testing.

+ Adheres to established safety procedures.
