**Where You Will Work **

Located in southeastern Arizona, close to more than 4 million acres of national forest, employees and their families can connect with the great outdoors while fishing, rafting, hiking and more. Several educational institutions also are nearby, including a Northern Arizona University satellite campus, Eastern Arizona College, and the Gila Institute for Technology.

**What You Will Do**

+ Create MOCs and SOPs for non-routine test work. Works side by side with Safety and technical staff to perform new tasks in order to facilitate writing of MOCs and SOPs so that some aspects of the job can become more routine.

+ Understanding the test plans and the data required, designs test setups and procures equipment to build out the required equipment. Oversee construction of test equipment setups, participates in safety audits, and directs startup of new test programs.

+ Actively participate in technical meetings. Creates test plans for non-routine work. Translates test plan designs into work schedules. Explains and assigns test plans and ensures that MOCs and SOPs are in place and are followed.

+ Evaluate training, equipment, and manpower needs. Communicates needs and schedule to technical team.

+ Evaluate data coming from testing, meets with metallurgists and other technical leaders to communicate preliminary results. Optimizes processes and equipment to meet information needs.

+ Build skills and works with employees on Line of Progressions to create highly performing technical workforces.

+ Work with metallurgists and technical staff to understand information needs, helps design safe equipment design. Prepares manpower estimates and training schedules.

+ Assist in performing safety analysis of new and changing test work and equipment. Writes MOCs and SOPs for review, performs Fatal Risk Management audits and perform corrective action as needed. Train staff in safety awareness of ever-changing tasks so that they are empowered to understand hazards and stop the work.

+ Able to supervise either Standard Column Leach Facility located in Safford, AZ where leach column data provides data for operations forecasting or the Morenci Large Column leach and SXEW test facility where leach columns are 40 feet tall and contain up to 50 tons of ore. Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including use of concentrated sulfuric acid and an array of leach additives, each with specific hazards.

+ Perform other duties as requested.

**What You Bring To Freeport**

+ High School diploma or GED, **and** five (5) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, **OR**

+ Bachelor’s Degree in a technical mining related discipline with at least one (1) summer internship experience (or equivalent) working in mining or industrial environment, including supervisory or lead experience.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Three (3) years of supervisor experience

+ Experience in SX, EW, Leaching, or CLP

+ Ability to travel to and from LEC to Large Columns, (Safford to Morenci)

+ Ability to work 90% of the time in Morenci and 10% of the time in LEC, (Sanchez), as needed for projects, meetings, coordination, coverage, etc.

**What We Offer You **

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently **$76,000-$104,000.** This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
