Support PTFI’s continual improvement in its occupational health and safety management system to prevent serious incidents and fatalities and reduce overall injury rate through development of Health & Safety (H&S) competencies in the workforce, supporting professional development of H&S leaders and practitioners and development and implementation of an integrated Freeport Safety Health Management System (FSHMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and government regulations.
**_Additional Responsibilities:_**
1. Support PTFI’s Senior H&S Manager - Smelter Safety Division in guiding the strategic direction of PTFI’s occupational health and safety objectives, targets, and programs.
2. Support Hot Metal and Refinery operations in initiatives related to specific risks in smelting (e.g. hazardous gas, molten metal, sulfuric acid, etc.)
3. Develop, implement and guide specific H&S initiatives and teams in hazard identification, critical control verification and stopping work similar to FCX’s other smelters and PTFI’s operations in Papua.
4. Support and guide the H&S manager on PTFI and FCX standards, communication, incident reporting and classification, development of H&S team, etc.
5. Share global best practices in management systems, risk management, and critical control implementation & monitoring with site leaders and counterparts.
6. Facilitate collaboration and alignment with PTFI’s key H&S stakeholders, including PTFI business unit leaders, Freeport-McMoRan Inc. (FCX), Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID), and regulatory branches of the Government of Indonesia to evolve H&S objectives, targets, and programs.
7. Guide investigations and root cause analyses related to complex and high severity incidents. Provide guidance to management team during crisis events.
8. Support emergency preparedness and response efforts, assessing team readiness, and guiding emergency drills and tabletop exercises.
9. Actively participate in PTFI’s health & safety programs, including Fatal Risk Management, Safety Accountability Program, and frequent interaction in work areas with safety practitioners and operations / maintenance crews.
10. Support reviews of leading and lagging performance indicators, guiding teams to draw valid conclusions and develop meaningful action plans.
11. Support governance processes to report accurate and timely information.
12. Develop technical and leadership competencies of counterparts and counterparts’ teams.
13. Assess the quality of implementation of safety standards, programs, and action plans across PTFI’s business units, and partner with business unit leaders and H&S teams to respond to findings.
14. Monitor and advise on safety policies and practices throughout PTFI's area of work to ensure all safety policies and practices are followed and that they conform to GOI and international standards.
15. Provide safety advice for the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the PTFI major safety program elements, such as:

18. Contractor Safety Management System
19. Safety Accountability Program
20. Behavior-based Safety Program
21. Safety and Health Steering Committee
22. Internal Accident Investigation Committee
23. Safety Training Program
24. Act as bridge between the Safety Department and the Area Managers to ensure good coordination and mutual support towards PTFI's continued ISO45001 success.
25. Coordinate, monitor, and control of the training and development activities of national safety representatives in each division to develop competencies, skills and trust among division managers and field personnel.
26. Provide content advice and edit all safety-related documents, such as accident investigation reports, monthly reports, safety policies, procedures, and safety publications.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical engineering discipline, Health and Safety or related field.
+ Ten (10) years of working experience in safety, industrial health management and risk management in a processing or smelting environment.
+ Extensive experience in safety and health system implementation.
+ Willingness to work in a team environment.
+ High level communication and presentation skills.
+ Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.
+ Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
+ Highly proactive and achievement oriented.
+ Highly focused toward satisfying customer requirements.
+ Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience working in multiple countries with the ability to work in a culturally diversified workforce.
