The Speech language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position at Polaris Academy involves providing therapy assistance to student with speech language impairments under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). The role includes assisting in the assessment of students, documenting progress, and implementing therapy plans to enhance communication skills. This full-time position is integral to supporting the educational needs of students in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy assistance to student identified by the supervising Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) following written therapy plans or protocols developed by the SLP.
- Assist the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) with informal documentation as directed.
- Document student progress toward meeting established objectives as stated in the therapy plan or protocol and report this information to the Speech Language Pathologies (SLP).
- Assist in collecting and tallying of data for assessment purposes.
- Prepare and process record keeping and materials necessary for documentation to convey information to appropriate parties.
- Regular and on-time attendance required.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the effective and efficient operations of the work unit.

Requirements:
- Valid Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license issued by the Arizona Department of Health Services.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- English language (verbal and written) proficiency.
- Documented success working with children preferr3ed.
- Ability and interest in working with the autistic and neurodivergent children.
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with special education and other district personal.
- Ability and willingness to participate in professional growth and training activities.
