Northrop Grumman is looking for a talented system engineer to pioneer how to safely design and operate the next generation ICBM weapon system. A Nuclear Surety engineer has the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a system designed to provide another 50 years of security for this great nation. Nuclear Surety ensures that nuclear weapons are protected against peacetime and wartime threats at all times. This role will be located in Roy, Utah and may offer a competitive relocation package.

A Nuclear Surety Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman on the Sentinel program will be provided the opportunity to:

+ Performing decomposition of Department of Defense safety manuals into requirements and allocating them to design teams for implementation

+ Provide systems engineering expertise to the design, integration, and testing of a next generation ICBM weapon system

+ Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification, validation, cost, risk, supportability, and analysis for mechanical, electrical, and integrated systems

+ Evaluate the physical security design based on the Department of Defense Safety manuals

+ Interface directly with various compartments of the Department of Defense and Department of Energy to ensure safe design and operation of nuclear weapon systems

+ Use model based engineering tools on a major weapon system to pioneer a new way to evaluate and analyze modern design

+ Learn a niche discipline that spans all aspects of Nuclear Power and Munitions

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years

+ Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs

+ Bachelor's degree in computer science or an electrical, computer, or software engineering discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of related experience, a Master's Degree in computer science or an electrical, computer, or software engineering discipline and 10 years of related experience, or a PhD in computer science or an electrical, computer, or software engineering discipline and 8 years of related experience

+ Previous program milestone execution experience, including but not limited to Systems Requirements Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design review.

+ Experience working with Nuclear Surety Requirements and the Nuclear Certification process (e.g. AFI 63-125, AFMAN 91-118/91-119/31-108, DODM 5210.41)

+ Experience with any of the following tools and languages: DOORs, Cameo, TeamCenter, GIT, JAZZ, NX, Capitol

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical, electronic or software engineering discipline

+ Active DOD Top Secret Clearance • Experience with electrical or software analyses/test; verification of requirements

+ Experience with programmable logic devices; i.e. FPGAs, ASICs

+ Prior experience and working knowledge of the Sentinel program

+ Holding current INCOSE AESP or CESP certifications

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

**Salary Range:** $147,700 - $221,500

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
