**Job Summary:**

Configures, installs, maintains, upgrades, monitors, troubleshoots, repairs and optimizes enterprise server hardware and software. Ensures the overall effectiveness of components. Evaluates, recommends, and implements cost effective improvements that will increase utility, functionality, and/or effectiveness of said components.

**Principal Responsibilities:**

+ Implements, analyzes, maintains, customizes, supports, and tests components within the assigned technical area(s).

+ Provides, reviews, or assists in the creation of and evaluations of suggested hardware/software configurations pertinent to the assigned technical area.

+ Provides evaluation of proposals and/or projects pertinent to assigned technical area(s)

+ Monitors, evaluates, and reports the ongoing performance and capacity of components within the assigned technical area to ensure business needs are met. Recommends enhancements as they pertain to the(se) area(s) based upon known capabilities and projected future demands within the technical areas. May manage the implementation of defined solutions.

+ May be involved in evaluating hardware and software technology against existing, future, and anticipated needs. May recommend enhancements to the computing environment in order to provide cost effective solution to problems or processes.

+ Other duties as assigned.

**Job Level Specifications:**

+ Experience with Windows Server Administration and PowerShell Scripting

+ Mastery knowledge of industry best practices and disciplines. Considered a subject matter expert within the organization and contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.

+ Develops solutions to highly complex and uniquely challenging situations. Assignments require extensive evaluation of alternatives and variables. Expected to make improvements to policies and procedures.

+ Works independently toward long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated using independent judgment and discretion. May act as informal team lead and/or coach less experienced team members.

+ Serves as consultant to management and/or internal/external spokesperson for the organization on major initiatives related to policies, plans, and long-range objectives.

+ Actions may impact the organization and its reputation. Effects of erroneous decisions may be long-lasting, influence the future course of the organization, and/or require the expenditure of extensive additional resources.

+ Extensive administrative and deployment experience in vSphere, Nutanix and Cisco UCS infrastructures.

+ Comfortable speaking with audiences of deeply technical to non-technical folks

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to collaborate with fellow team members and teams across the organization

+ Strong problem-solving capabilities

+ Strong interpersonal and business skills

+ Strong technical skills to support understanding existing solutions and architecture as well as future architecture needs

+ Strong work ethic and dedication to quality

+ Positive attitude and calm under pressure and works well in team environment

+ Experience with Windows Clients/Servers (Permissions, SMB/CIFS, DFS)

+ 8+ years of experience with Advanced Active Directory (GPO, OU, Security Groups, Secure LDAP binding, Replication, and related troubleshooting, FSMO role management etc.)

+ 8+ years of experience with a variety of network protocols (DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SFTP, WMI, SNMP etc.)

+ Cloud experience (Azure)

+ An advanced knowledge and experience of IT operations including physical and virtual server clusters, SAN/NAS Storage, IP Networks (router, switches & load balancers), Datacenter Infrastructures

**Work Experience:**

+ Experience of 8+ years of corporate IT experience.

**Education and Certification(s):**

+ A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems Degree preferred. Or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

**Distinguishing Characteristics:**

+ Extensive experience with Microsoft server operating systems, vSphere Administration, Azure Administration and Cisco UCS Server Hardware and management.
