As a **Pharmacy Prep and Dispensing Program Director,** you will be focused on analyzing pharmacy procurement opportunities, either product conversions or contract proposals, for cost savings to Banner Health. This role will interact with the procurement team, facility buyers and leaders, and the analytics team. You will be able to analyze data, develop insights, draw conclusions, and will be able to work with other teams to implement changes. The expectation is to have an interest in growing your knowledge of pharmacy data and help to deepen insights into the underlying business through improved reporting and analysis. Having a degree in finance or industrial engineering or a good handle on cost reporting combined with Pharmacy knowledge will be helpful in this role.
**You will work remotely, with the potential to be in office or visiting one of the Banner facilities. Initially there will be more on site interactions, eventually expected to go on site one day per week.**

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides leadership and expertise to Banner Pharmacy Services to ensure the achievement of financial goals and performance metrics. This position provides timely analysis and ensures operational and purchasing effectiveness.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides leadership in the achievement of financial goals including pharmaceutical spend optimization, WAC reduction strategies, 340B optimization, and procurement standardization. Identifies performance improvement opportunities through analysis of trends and variances.
2. Coordinates purchase analysis with Contracting team members to deliver cost-savings to hospitals, clinics, and retail pharmacies. Develops and implements purchase controls and standards as applicable.
3. Works closely with pharmacy services Outcomes and Analytics team to define and develop new reporting, focused on actionable cost savings, contract compliance, and opportunity analysis. Provides decisions on purchasing and contracting opportunities with the goals of cost savings and supply stability.
4. Presents detailed medication spend analysis and trends to stakeholders including internal committees, management and administration.
5. Leads the analysis and evaluation of clinical outcomes, financial and operational performance, and business planning related to specific improvements and design of new services. Ensures development and compliance with operating and capital budgets and achievement of financial performance.
6. Manages and monitors contracts or subcontracts to ensure invoicing is accurate and aligns with contracted price.
7. Supports the achievement of financial goals and performance metrics for Banner facilities. The incumbent exercises authority and control over the assigned responsibilities of this position. This position is involved in identifying and resolving operational problems. Independently must be able to work with internal and external professional contacts, always maintains a positive customer service attitude. Continually develops improvement processes in data management, cost accounting, and opportunity analysis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, finance or related field or equivalent experience. Significant experience typically gained through two to four years relevant work experience.
Must possess the ability to apply quantitative and qualitative process improvement techniques and perform advanced data analysis. Must be proficient with one or more operating systems, spreadsheets, database managers, presentations programs, and word processors. Must demonstrate a record of leadership with effective communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills as well as ability to identify and meet customer needs in a team environment. Requires effective negotiation capabilities and ability lead in a highly matrixed environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in pharmacy or healthcare preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
