Summary This position is located at MWR Buffalo Corral Riding Stables on Fort Huachuca, AZ. This is a flexible position (0-40 hours) with no eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plans. **Weekly reviews and lists sent to management starting 08 APR 2025** Responsibilities Provides care of all animals, including horses and various household pets kept at the stables, kennels and/or petting Zoo. Performs work according to established methods or follows special instructions. Responsible for keeping stables, kennel and premises in a clean and sanitary condition, and for the security and welfare of all animals. Responsible for the correct identity and quantities of various foods for each animal following specified or special schedule. Observes animals to be continually aware of appearance, behavioral or health changes, takes corrective action and informs management, veterinarian personnel or owner as necessary. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 1.Knowledge of animals' characteristics, needs and behavior, and skill in observing, handling and caring for animals. 2. Able to follow complex instructions, ability to maintain records. Highly Perferred Criteria 1. Highly Perferred candidates will posses a certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist certificate (CESMT). ***Those applicants that meet the highly preferred criteria will be referred to management first. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
