POSITION SUMMARY:

Grande Union High School District is advancing a major expansion program taking fundamental responsibility for the communities we serve.
Under direction of the site principal the Early Childhood Education teacher plans, develops, and conducts classes that follow the Arizona state
standards for a qualified CTE program, acts as an advisor in the FCCLA student organization, and supervises the Early Childhood Learning Center
as the high school student work experience program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Arizona Secondary Teaching Certificate in the appropriate subject area:
-SCTF Standard Career and Technical Education Family Consumer Sciences OR
-SSCTEFCS Standard Specialized Career and Technical Education Family and Consumer Sciences OR
-SCTET Secondary Career and Technical Education: Education and Training OR
-SSCTET Standard Specialized Career and Technical Education and Training
Valid Fingerprint Card
CTE Certified in appropriate subject area or ability to obtain the CTE Certification for the High School level
Demonstrates organizational ability
Clear and professional communication skills (verbal and written)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Creates a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve
learning objectives.
Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the needs, interests and abilities of individuals to ensure student achievement.
Provides an instructional program to meet the needs of all students including students with disabilities.
Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all
lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives.
Establishes learning objectives consistent with appraisal of student needs; requirements of the districts curriculum framework, and
knowledge of student growth and development.
Plans for and utilizes instructional methods, resources and evaluation techniques which motivate and enable each student to achieve
learning objectives.
Diagnoses the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of Exceptional Students staff as required. Provides
input when necessary to students IEP’s.
Takes all necessary and safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, CGUHSD policy and administrative regulation. Assists the administration in
implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom
behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or
requested to do so under reasonable terms.
Establishes professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents and community which reflect recognition of and respect for every
individual.
Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for paraprofessionals and volunteers. May evaluate paraprofessional’s job performance with
department chairs and/or administrators.
Appraises own effectiveness and demonstrates successful application of skills and information acquired to increase effectiveness. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence through professional development.
Participates in school management and shares the responsibility for the total school program. Attends staff meetings, PLC’s and serves on
staff committees as required.
Coordinate text book adoption process within department. Works collaboratively with the Early Childhood Learning Center Director and the Inspiring Excellence Coach to create meaningful work-based
and project-based learning opportunities for high school students in the Early Childhood Learning Center.
Through the FCCLA will assist students to develop those attitudes and skills in leadership, citizenship and human relations which will
contribute to their personal success.
Adhere to deadlines set forth by the State and National FCCLA for membership, dues, awards and leadership activities.
Develop and conduct a complete FCCLA program of activities that adheres to state and national guidelines.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include decisions related to selection, performance appraisal, discipline and salary recommendations.
Build strong and empowered teams by providing direction, delegation, counsel, mentoring and expertise to individual team leads, while
retaining overall responsibility and accountability for results.
Promote and encourage the development, training and promotion of staff members to assure the perpetuation of a professional and
competent workforce.
