· Test raw materials and finished products for microbiological testing using a wide variety of testing methods. Perform routine environmental and water testing.

· Follow all company policies and procedures.

· Follow and ensure compliance to quality system and cGMP programs.

· Contribute to Laboratory Services documents such as STMs, Standard Operating Procedures, quarterly OOS report, Raw Material Identification report, and review reports for others.

· Log samples into the laboratory, and sign raw materials out of the laboratory

· Perform daily microbiological testing using Soleris Next Generation System

· Aid in OOS investigations.

Additional

· Weekly and monthly water testing for entire facility

· Monthly environmental testing for all facilities and microbiological lab

· Prepare wide variety of media and use of autoclave

· Perform probiotic enumeration.

· Weekly cleaning tasks

· Reports to Microbiologist I

Qualifications:

· Non-supervisory role.

· Must have college degree in a science related field, or minimum 3 years of experience in a laboratory environment (such as an ANS Lab Assistant

Must know how to correctly use pipettes

· Some work experience preferred.

· No certifications or licenses required.

· Must have moderate math skills.

· Moderate reading skills required.

· Basic computer skills needed.

· Must have moderate language skills.

· Must have moderate writing skills.

· Must be willing to learn new tasks and procedures.

· Ability to efficiently and effectively perform all essential position duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation without posing a direct safety threat to self or others.

· Maintain a regular and dependable work attendance record with few instances of unplanned and/or unexpected absence.

Office and Lab conditions include:

· Temperature variations may occur throughout the day.

· Exposure to food ingredients, including food allergens, in free-floating powder form.

· Exposure to chemicals, microorganisms, fumes (including autoclaved materials) and airborne particles.

· Lab noise may include vacuum pumps, sonic baths, instrumentation, chillers, stability chambers, refrigerators, autoclaves, tapped density, and other equipment.

· Protective equipment such as safety glasses, lab coats, respirators, gloves, hearing protection, masks, back belts, or cGMP attire suits may be required or recommended in certain situations.

Production Area includes these environmental conditions:

· Exposure to food ingredients, including food allergens, in free-floating powder form.

· Moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and risk of electrical shock.

· Noise level usually moderate and often constant.

· Protective equipment such as gloves, hearing protection, masks, back belts, or cGMP attire suits may be required or recommended in certain situations.
