The Department of Economic Security, Division of Technology Services (DTS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Applications Developer (Salesforce Developer). This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom Salesforce applications using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning components, collaborating with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions, while demonstrating proficiency in core Salesforce functionalities and best practices, including integration with external systems and complex workflow automation, while also supporting ongoing application maintenance. This position is also responsible for performing On-Call after hour support when needed.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Designs, develops, and maintains custom Salesforce applications using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning components.
Collaborates with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Thoroughly review code written by other developers to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security protocols.
Write Apex classes, triggers, and scheduled jobs to automate business processes and create custom functionality within Salesforce.
Identify and resolve issues within Salesforce applications, including debugging Apex code and troubleshooting integration problems.
Utilize Salesforce configuration options like workflows, validation rules, and sharing rules to implement business logic without requiring custom code where possible.
Administer Salesforce Org.
Other duties as assigned relating to the position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:

Web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and REST APIs
Software development processes including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning
Business applications, testing multiple platforms, browsers, and mobile devices
Salesforce Service Cloud, agile and test driven development
Integrating Salesforce applications with other systems
Multiple programming languages, multiple database management systems, multiple development platforms, and systems integration
Apex programming language including Lightning components and framework
AZURE DEVOPS; Agile Development Methodology
Salesforce Service Cloud, agile and test-driven development
Proficient understanding of Salesforce data model, objects, Lightning components and framework and relationships
Skills In:

Written and verbal communication
Strong problem solving, priority setting, multi-tasking, analytical, and collaboration skills
Salesforce configurations, including workflows, approval processes, and custom fields
Custom User Interface development, including Visual force pages/Lightning pages, Aura Components and Lightning Web Components.
Developing and supporting experience cloud websites
Ability to:

Work On-Call after hour support when needed
Collaborate and communicate effectively with business stakeholders and other team members
Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly
Develop and write technical documentation
Demonstrated ability to execute prescribed testing using established procedures and tools
Interpret and analyze test results
Use or maintain testing frameworks, test libraries, databases and test environments
Balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks
Selective Preference(s):
This ideal candidate for this position will have:

Very experienced with Coding .
Experience with Salesforce Certified Platform Developer
Experience Salesforce Certified Administrator
Proficiency with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Extensive experience with complex Salesforce customization, integrations and configuration
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Employee shall obtain and maintain a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1969.
Bachelor’s degree plus 5 or more years of programming and analysis experience (or equivalent experience).
Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

Retirement:
State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
