The Department of Economic Security, Division of Technology Services (DTS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Applications Architect (Applications Development Lead). This position is responsible for leading system development and maintenance while guiding a team of developers. This role ensures project completion within established timelines and quality standards by making critical technical decisions, providing strategic direction and communicating project progress. The Applications Development Lead combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills to drive the success of software development initiatives. The Applications Development Lead is also responsible for ensuring project completion on time and within quality standards, making technical decisions, mentoring team members, and acting as a bridge between the technical team and stakeholders by communicating project progress and requirements effectively. This position is also responsible for performing On-Call after hour support when needed.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and provide on call support as needed.
Provide architectural and application design directions to development team and establish and implement development standards, including Mentor other developers.
Architect and design new integrations. Work with a broad set of technologies such as Salesforce, MuleSoft, SmartComm, Informatica, Microsoft AZURE, SQL Server, Web Inspect, Checkmarx, Tableau, Integrations, Designing and Architecting solutions, Database Conversion.
Lead enterprise architecture initiatives in the development and customization of software development based on needs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:

REST APIs - Salesforce
SmartComm, Informatica, iRules, Mulesoft, Microsoft AZURE, Web Inspect, Checkmarx, Tableau
ADA Testing - Data modeling - SQL - AZURE DEVOPS
Skills in:

Leading complex development activities
Exceptional design, coding, testing and debugging skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Agile / Scrum Development

Selective Preference(s):
This ideal candidate for this position will have:

Master's degree. Hands on experience with web development and SQL.
Eight years of experience with Salesforce, .NET, SQL, Testing and Microsoft Azure, Integrations, Designing and Architecting solutions, Database Conversion
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Employee shall obtain and maintain a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1969.
Bachelor’s degree plus 10 or more years of programming and analysis experience (or equivalent experience).
Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

Retirement:
State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
