TITLE: INVENTORY CONTROL TECHNICIAN

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To assist in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse; to play an integral part in providing a service-oriented relationship with all other district departments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
WAREHOUSE
Answers warehouse telephone;
Receives materials and supplies and checks for damage, shortage or discrepancies and processes paperwork;
Packs materials or equipment to be shipped and fills out all necessary forms of shipment, including label and bills of lading;
Through requisitions, issues materials and supplies as requested and keeps appropriate clerical/computer records; receives returned items; counts stock items in filling request;
Assists in checking, posting and costing out supplies received by district warehouse;
Performs custodial duties in warehouse and adjacent premises; sweeps floors; disposes of rubbish;
Maintains stock records; performs routine clerical tasks; assists in regular inventories;
Operates calculator and computer terminal;
Assists in unloading equipment and supplies received by warehouse;
Picks up/delivers supplies and materials as needed in Tucson;
Receives deliveries, including UPS and freight and checks against purchase orders;
Delivers warehouse orders to sites;
Performs other duties as assigned.
GENERAL FIXED ASSETS
Tags school equipment and furniture as it passes through warehouse; records tag numbers on property control form;
Locates, identifies and tags school equipment district-wide;
Performs other duties as assigned.
PURCHASING
Maintains reports on item usage by department;
Plans Tucson pick up/delivery runs;
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
A. REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent;
Three years of experience in a related field;
Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications, such as word processing and databases;
Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license;
Must have the ability to communicate and work well with staff and the general public.
B. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift 75 lbs. without assistance.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
A. TIME MANAGEMENT: Must plan three to six months in advance;

C. PUBLIC CONTACT: Interacts primarily with other employees and the general public;
D. LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY: Must use sound judgment in performing the job;
EVALUATION PROCEDURE: In accordance with provisions specified in Governing Board policy.
