Description

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team at a busy construction office in the 85009 area. In this role, you'll be responsible for handling full-cycle payroll processing using QuickBooks, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. You’ll also use Excel to manage and analyze payroll data, so strong spreadsheet skills are a must.

This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance with labor laws and supporting the financial operations of a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees using QuickBooks.

+ Verify timesheets, job costing entries, and project-based labor allocation.

+ Maintain accurate payroll records, tax withholdings, and deductions in compliance with federal and state regulations.

+ Use Excel to create reports, audit payroll data, and support job costing and financial tracking.

+ Handle payroll-related questions from employees and resolve discrepancies professionally and promptly.

+ Assist with year-end payroll reporting, including W-2s and other tax documentation.

+ Coordinate with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate employee data and benefits integration.

Requirements

+ 2+ years of full-cycle payroll experience, ideally in a construction or field-based work environment.

+ Proficient in QuickBooks Payroll and Microsoft Excel

+ Familiarity with time tracking systems and job costing is a plus.

+ Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.

+ Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative office setting.
