We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Patient Education Specialist to join our Dialysis team. This role is role is to educate families who will manage peritoneal dialysis in their homes. The specialist will be responsible for conducting one-on-one education with patients and their families, including an initial two-week training period for each new patient. A unique aspect of this position involves visiting the patient’s home on the first night of dialysis to ensure comfort, safety, and proper technique.

In addition to primary education responsibilities, the specialist lead incenter training sessions with hemodialysis families and contribute to the development of patient education plans, tools, and curriculum as the program evolves. While the focus is entirely on educating patients and families—rather than clinical nurse training—the specialist will be trained as a core RN in both Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis to provide comprehensive, informed guidance.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Peritoneal Dialysis, demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, and possess the ability to educate diverse learners with empathy and adaptability. This role is exempt and offers a full time schedule Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm and no weekends! New Grads will not be considered.

This position develops, implements, and evaluates proactive educational plans and programs within the departmental needs to ensure ongoing patient and family education and training according to best practice, requirements, and regulations.
